YCDSB Celebrates Student Artist Behind St. Joseph the Worker Prayer Card

Congratulations, Ashley!

In celebration of St. Joseph the Worker, the patron saint of all workers, the YCDSB Pathways to EmployABILITY Program (PEP) invited students in the Special Education Program to participate in a meaningful art contest. The challenge? To create a visual depiction of St. Joseph and Jesus working side by side, answering the call of their vocation with love, purpose and faith.

We are proud to announce that Ashley Gifford, a talented student from St. Brother André CHS, has been selected as the winner of the St. Joseph the Worker Prayer Card Art Contest!

Ashley’s stunning artwork, both thoughtful and faith-filled, will be featured on the official PEP program prayer card, serving as a symbol of devotion and inspiration across our Board. Ashley was formally recognized at the May 5 SEAC meeting, where she was presented with a framed copy of her winning piece.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to all the students who participated in the contest. Your creativity, artistic expression and faith-filled reflections deeply moved and inspired us.

This initiative is a shining example of how our students continue to share their God-given gifts in meaningful and lasting ways.

Well done, Ashley – we are so proud of you!
