Getting Ready for the OSSLT- Again!

On March 30th, grade 10 and some grade 11 students will write the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT). This is a graduation requirement and the passing score is 300/400 points.

To help our students prepare, there will be some opportunities for instruction and practice of the key skills evaluated on the test provided at school:

1.) Teachers of all grade 10 classes will deliver mini lessons with practice activities on March 6 during Period 1, March 8 during Period 2, March 21 during Period 3  and March 23 during Period 4

2.) After school invitational workshops are also planned and are being led by senior mentor students on March 9, 21, 23 and 28.

On Thursday, March 28th the Administration will host an information assembly for all students writing the OSSLT to clarify what will be on the test, along with what can and what cannot be brought into the test locations.

Notification is forthcoming regarding the revised schedule for the day for our grade 10 students, along with the rest of the student population. Parents and students are encouraged to visit the EQAO website for practice materials and copies of previous years’ tests.
