Canadian Hearing Services 2021 National Scholarship Program

Canadian Hearing Services 2021 National Scholarship Program is Open for Applications

ASL

TORONTO, March 18, 2021 – Canadian Hearing Services (CHS) is excited to kick-off the 2021 CHS National Scholarship Program!

The CHS National Scholarship Program helps break down financial barriers to post-secondary education for Deaf and hard of hearing students who are often excluded from the full academic experience because of added accessibility costs.  Through the funding provided, it becomes possible for these exceptional students to pursue their dream careers.
Scholarships are available to Canadian residents who are at least 17 years of age and Deaf, deafblind or hard of hearing. Undergraduate and graduate students, including mature students, attending accredited post-secondary institutions inside or outside of Canada may apply. Returning students may be eligible to receive the award for up to four years. Successful applicants who are full-time students will receive a $3,000 scholarship award for the academic year; part-time students will be awarded $1,000 for the academic year.  The funds can be used to cover tuition, residence or educational resources.

In 2020, CHS awarded a record 21 scholarships guaranteed for up to four years!  To learn more about how these scholarships have impacted the lives of Canadian students, view the thank-you videos from our 2020 scholarship recipients.

The CHS National Scholarship Program is made possible through the generous support of donors and partners who share CHS’ commitment to empowering Deaf and hard of hearing Canadians to overcome barriers to participation.
