AP Admissions Information

Students usually enter the AP Program in their grade 9 year. Students who are formally identified as gifted learners are automatically eligible to enter the AP Program. Students who are not formally identified but have consistently demonstrated a level 4 achievement in all subject areas, and excellence in learning skills (E, G, S, N) as reported on their provincial report cards should complete the application process for consideration to the program.

Admission Criteria for “Non-Identified” Students

In order to be considered for admission to the AP program at St. Brother André CHS, grade 8 students must submit by the deadline of the last week of November a separate AP Program application package which includes:

  • Completed and signed AP program application form
  • Student essay
  • Copy of final grade 7 report card
  • Copy of most recent grade 8 report card

Note that only complete application packages will be considered for admission. If any required documentation is missing, we cannot adequately assess your student.

All students who have submitted complete application packages will be notified by letter mid-January as to whether or not they have been accepted into the AP program.
