Voter Registration Awareness Week

The right to vote is a privilege. It is also a responsibility. Generations before us struggled for the right to have an active role in choosing our governments. The decisions made by federal, provincial and municipal government have a direct impact on your life – don’t you want a say in who gets to make those decisions? When we vote in elections, we connect to one another as citizens. By expressing our views, we help our democracy work. Voting helps to protect our rights and freedoms and hold those whose job it is to safeguard those rights and freedoms accountable.

This week is Voter Registration Awareness Week, courtesy of the Politics Club! Members of the club will be set up in the Atrium during the lunches this week to help students who are of voting age to register. Those who are age 16 and 17 can also register as future voters. Review the attachments and be sure to have your I.D. ready to go!
